Feelings Make the Mare Go !

Dear readers: Although this article is based upon a story from the Bible, it has nothing to do with religion. I am using this story to explain the creative power of human mind to manifest desires into reality. The Gospel of Mark tells a very meaningful story in a fantastic way. It is really amazing the way every step has been described in a methodical way to reveal the hidden meanings in the text. Mark has described the techniques of prayer in very inspiring, heavenly and mystical manner.

Let’s see what Mark is trying to say in this passage.

Vision to Manifest Desires: The first part of the passage tells us the power of “vision”. The Gospel text says: “As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’”

They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields”.

Jesus tells his disciples exactly what they are going to face and what they are required to do. The vision of Jesus is very, very clear in his mind. Some people might say that Jesus had already arranged these things with people of the village. Some might interpret that Jesus had the power to foresee and he knew before-hand what was going to happen. But, there is a third possibility as well: Jesus had the power to create and make things happen the way he wanted. In this passage, this is what Mark is pointing towards: “the power of Jesus as a creator”. He is the creator. He can manifest his vision into reality. That is what the first part of this passage is pointing towards. This is the miraculous power of concrete and solid vision. If we are able to train our mind to form a vision as real as an object in the real world then it surely is going to manifest into reality. When the disciples of Jesus went to that village they found the things exactly as they were described by Jesus. Jesus’ vision was manifested and this is what Mark is highlighting here. The moral lesson in this first part of the passage is: make a vision to manifest your desire.

Feelings, Emotions and Sentiments are Essential Elements  for Manifestation of Desires: In the second part of the story, Jesus rides the colt and starts his journey towards Jerusalem with his disciples and his supporters. Many people join the procession on the way and by the time they reach near the city the crowd has already swollen. The people are very, very happy. They do not know how to welcome and greet their Messiah. They are so much over-joyed that they shout “Hosanna” which means “Help us, Lord. Save us, we beseech thee”. They also said:”blessed is the one who comes in the name of The Lord, Hosanna in the highest”. What marvelous and awesome slogans! The important point in this part of the story is “The Feelings, Emotions and Sentiments” of the people: the feelings of joy and happiness, the feelings that The Lord is with them, the feelings of victory and liberation from slavery of Roman Empire and the feelings of safety and security from all grief and problems of life. The moral of this second part of the passage is: “If the vision is supported by feelings, it displays its effectiveness and its power of getting manifested into reality”. Feelings are an essential element for the manifestation of our vision. Jesus enters Jerusalem which means the victory and achievement of goal, the manifestation of desire.

The story highlights four factors for achievement of goal or desire: The desire, the vision, the feelings and the manifestation of desire. The desire can be anything such as to get a job, to pass examination, buy a house or to overcome a terminal disorder. If we are able to make a solid and concrete vision and load it with feelings and emotions, we shall be able to manifest our desires into realty. We shall achieve our goal. We shall enter our Jerusalem as a victorious king.
