How To Win the Battle against Covid-19
The entire world is passing through a very challenging time. COVID-19 or coronavirus has spread its tentacles all over the globe. It’s an invisible enemy equipped with the deadliest weapons for which humankind has no remedy. People are constantly being given guidelines on how to protect themselves from this pandemic as much as possible. The virus transmits from person to person through touch and personal contact. Therefore, social and physical distancing, washing hands frequently, wearing disposable gloves and face masks are the basic mandatory requisites to stop the viral flow. Everybody must adhere to these instructions because this is the only way to stop and kill this lethal virus.
Every country of the world is under lock-down. People have shut themselves in their homes. Educational institutions, public and private offices and business centers have been closed. Some Asian and Middle Eastern countries have imposed curfew in order to force the people to follow the instructions of WHO or the state’s health authorities. The curfew is lifted briefly to let the people buy their daily-living necessities. The states’ parliamentary sessions have been cancelled. Doctors and medical staff of private clinics are giving consultations to their patients online or through telephone. Even the worship places and centers, where people bow-down to their deities or heavenly powers, have been locked down.
Social media portrays several treatment options for coronavirus. The WHO and official medical authorities strictly forbid people from trying any unauthorized treatment. The world scientists have not been able to find vaccine or cure of COVID-19, as yet. It may take months or a year for the vaccine and the cure to come in the market. What will the people of the world do until then? It’s a long time. The virus is killing the people in large number every day. We all hope and wait for a miracle to happen.
COVID-19 has brought drastic changes in the life of people of the planet. They have been cocooned in the four walls of the house. Although they are off from their office jobs, they cannot go for an outing because the parks and holiday resorts are closed. They must stay home. That’s what Canada’s premier has told them to do: “Go home and stay home”. But people are not used to this kind of life. They want to socialize and spend time away from their homes for some time. They do not know what to do and how to pass the time. The children are also disturbed from this sort of situation. Why can’t they go out? Why can’t they meet their friends? This kind of restricted life for which people are not used to is causing several problems including stress, anxiety and depression. It is a serious situation that needs to be resolved. We need to find healthy and positive ways how to pass the time at home usefully and
constructively. No one can do this alone. We need to help each other to find out solution of our day to day problems during these stressful hours. We need to transform the stress and anxiety into positivity and joy. We need to break this cycle of stress and change it into activities that we enjoy and share with others as useful and constructive. Fortunately, we have the technology that helps us to connect with people in every corner of the world. We can talk to people outside while sitting comfortably in our home. We can have video conference. We can use WhatsApp chat, Messenger, Instagram, Facebook, email and other social media to communicate with people around. We can share ideas, hobbies, online games, dance, music, songs and even hold online parties.
The aim is to get out of the stressful situation and engage in positive and healthy activities. It is a proven fact that stress, anxiety, fear and depression lower our immunity level. A weak immune system is unable to defend against the viral and bacterial attacks. There is no medicine, at the present time, that will save us from COVID-19. Therefore, what we need is a very strong immune system in our bodies. This kind of strong immune system can be developed through training our minds in a positive way. If mind is healthy, the body will be healthy. We must train our minds to develop the immunity that fights a decisive and victorious battle against any disease or deadly pestilence that tries to enter our bodies. Once we are able to do this, we shall not be scared of any viral disease. Achieving this goal is not at all difficult. There are several different techniques and methods of personal development. Guided meditation, breathing exercises and autogenic training are some of the effective techniques of mental training. All what we need is to explore the internet and discover the techniques to develop skills of achieving a healthy mind and healthy body. A note of caution: beware of unlicensed, unaccredited and fake mind-training programs!
Please keep following the guidelines of your state’s health authorities to keep yourself and the people around you safe from COVID-19. Best wishes for good health.

It is a very scary situation indeed. The world has always been fighting against a physically visible enemy. But now the enemy is an invisible deadly pestilence killing the people from all walks f life. The weapons of the super powers have failed miserably. Nobody knows what’s going to happen in the days to come. But whatI like is the will and determination of the people of the world to fight the viral attack. I am sure that man is going to win this battle.
Excellent suggestions on how to communicate in these days of lockdown and self-isolation. Also very good advice on ways to diminish the mental stress caused by this pestilence. The article also includes fabulous suggestions on ways to boost ones immune system so that the possibility of getting infected is lowered.
Absolutely Albert. This is exactly what I tried to focus upon in this article: stress, anxiety and depression due to social distance, how to communicate and the importance of meditation to boost immunity. The studies show that if we have a strong immune system, we can fight all diseases in a better way.
